The North Las Vegas Airport is the
second busiest airport in Nevada and is used for small and
privately owned aircraft. McCarran Airport, which serves the Las
Vegas Valley, is the fifth busiest airport in North America and
tenth busiest in the world averaging 120,000 passengers per day.
Bus service is provided by Citizen
Area Transit (CAT) mass transit system. The RTC began the
Citizens Area Transit (CAT) bus system in December 1992. In
2004, the RTC added the first Metropolitan Area Express (MAX)
line to its transit system and in October 2005 The DEUCE double
deck bus service began running on the famous Las Vegas Strip. Ridership among the RTC's transit services
has grown from 14.9 million riders in 1993 to more than 55
million riders. The buses offer 24 hour service in the downtown
and Strip areas and 20 hour service to residential areas.
Several taxicab services are
available around the valley.
