Burke & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that Senior Vice President Tony Dazzio has recently been appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Henderson Development Association, and Senior Project Manager Ray Jacobsen has recently been named a “Certified Master” of the Design Build Process by the Design Build Institute of America. Colliers International named Michael Campbell managing partner of its Las Vegas office. Community Bank of Nevada hired Rosalee Hedrick as vice president, branch manager for its Maryland Parkway branch. Cathie Brower financial advisor of Cornerstone Financial Partners, Ltd. is a recipient of the 2009 Long-Term Care Sales Achievement Award. Cathie was recognized by the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, the national trade organization. Marilyn Burrows is senior vice president and general manager of Cox Communications, Las Vegas. Pam Nickels received the 2008 Humanitarian Award at the Direct Access Lending recent 9th Annual Awards Banquet. Attorneys Lauri Thompson of Greenberg Traurig LLP and Michael Bonner of Kummer Kaempfer Bonner Renshaw & Ferrario were recently named among the “Top Lawyers” by Business Press. In Business Las Vegas recognized rising stars of the Las Vegas business world in their “40 Under 40” publication. Honorees included operations manager Adrian Levy of Republic Services; Francisco “Frank” Del Toro general manager, facilities administration of NV Energy; Kelli Bowling Citibank’s vice president of commercial lending; Brian Riffel senior vice president, industrial division of Colliers International; Russell Price executive vice president, director of private banking of Nevada State Bank; and Robert Gronauer a partner of the law firm Kummer Kaempfer Bonner Renshaw & Ferrario. Marko Blagojevic and Paul Minto of JMA Architecture Studios received LEED accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council. Kummer Kaempfer Bonner Renshaw & Ferrario law firm recently announced the appointments of Michael Bonner as chairman of the executive committee, Robert Gronauer as managing partner and president, and John Griffin, Brandon Roos, Steve Tackes and Jason Woodbury as partners. Mass Mutual Financial Group named Cecy Serrano marketing director and assistant to the general agent and Jessica Kato contracting and licensing coordinator and IT manager. Mutual of Omaha Bank appointed Shane Rogers as vice president of wealth management and David Lowe, Gene McAteer and Mark Yandric as wealth management advisers. Nevada Commerce Bank recently appointed Annette Fuentes as senior vice president compliance/credit administrative and security officer, and Norma Gratrix as vice president of loan servicing. Nevada State Bank appointed Sanford Sadler as executive vice president and chief credit officer and Jerry Przybysz is senior vice president, marketing communications manager. North Vista Hospital hired Mark Soriano as director of radiology. NV Energy named Punam Mathur vice president, human resources. Payroll Solutions Group appointed Michael Fennell as chief of operations and Rock Rocheleau as chief marketing officer for Payroll Solutions and its insurance division. Other company appointments include Tracy Peters as district manager, Stephanie Hill as implementation specialist, Forteasha London as tax compliance coordinator and Amanda Webb as account clerk. The PENTA Building Group recently announced that project engineer Devin Underberg has received his Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council and Mark Loving is business development manager. Piercy Bowler Taylor and Kern appointed Jeremy Roose, Sarah Wheeler and Kristin Yardley as auditors and Shannon Hiller was named director of marketing and administration. The Korte Company has announced that Katie Brechner, Jillian Bissell and Robert Marentette have recently passed the United States Green Building Council test and have been designated LEED Accredited Professionals. Vanguard Media Group recently appointed Suzanne Dunn as account manager. On the Move Bank of Nevada was named the acquiring bank of Security Savings Bank’s insured and uninsured deposits. The acquisition will increase the bank’s deposits to about $2 billion. Burke & Associates, Inc. has completed construction of phase II of the HELP @ Owens housing development in Las Vegas. The firm also recently completed construction of the new Alexander Library and Park complex in North Las Vegas. Additionally, the firm has completed the renovation of the El Cortez Cabana Suites in downtown Las Vegas. In other company news, Burke & Associates has been awarded the contract for the Southern Desert Correctional Center Core Expansion project in Indian Springs, Nevada for the Nevada Department of Corrections. Community One Federal Credit Union is launching a new campaign centered on free online services, which they’ve dubbed eServices. CORE Construction has begun tenant improvement services for the Las Vegas Prostate Cancer Center at Sunset Professional Offices. In other company news CORE announced that the firm was recently awarded a 2009 Spotlight Honor Award by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) of Southern Nevada for its new office building. Dekker/Perich/Sabatini Architects was recently recognized by the Southern Nevada Chapter of NAIOP as the 2009 Architecture Firm of the Year and Christopher Larsen as Associate Member of the Year. DeLuca Liquor & Wine will begin doing business under the Wirtz Beverage Group name – Wirtz Beverage Nevada – as part of an initiative to bring together the national portfolio of wine, spirit and beer distributorships under the Wirtz Beverage Group name. EJM Development has nearly completed a new $30 million industrial and office complex in the southwestern Las Vegas Valley. The Arroyo South Business Center is located at the northwest corner of Montessouri Street and Warm Springs Road. LM Construction is the general contractor. JMA was recently awarded CSN’s Fire Station College Instructional Center. JMA is designing the 14,000 square foot project which will house a fully operational fire station for the City of Las Vegas and additional classrooms for the College of Southern Nevada. The Korte Company teamed with JVC Architects to design-build the First African Methodist Episcopal Church in West Las Vegas. LM Construction has finished shell construction on Building #21 in Arrowhead Commerce Center, bringing the total square footage of the 110-acre complex to more than one million square feet. Martin-Harris Construction has completed 7 series, an office park at 740 Pilot Road in the Hughes Airport Center. Manpower Inc. of Southern Nevada recently held its grand opening of its training and development facility located at West Cheyenne Avenue in North Las Vegas. The Penta Building Group received a special recognition award for its work on World Market Center, Building C, at the 12th Annual National Association of Industrial and Office Properties of Southern Nevada Spotlight Awards. ROEL Construction Company, Inc. won the National Construction Safety Excellence Award AGC of America in the Building Division 300,001 to 700,000 hours worked category. Southwest Gas Corp. is fueling fast-track work on a new operations center in the northeastern valley. The $14.1 million complex is at Centennial Parkway and Shatz Street in North Las Vegas adjacent to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Two Men And A Truck of North Las Vegas is pleased to announce they have recently promoted three movers to full time trainers. Wells Fargo & Company announced that Fortune magazine rated the company 14th on its annual list of “World’s Most Admired Companies” and is the survey’s highest-ranking financial services company. Special Thanks To promote their eco-friendly services as well as to support a local business, Community One Federal Credit Union will begin selling recyclable tote bags to benefit a local, green non-profit group, Greener Vegas. By supporting this local and green non-profit, Community One Federal Credit Union is doing their part to help the environment as well as improve the community in which they serve. Cox Charities supported by Cox Communications recently handed out $70,000 to 14 Southern Nevada nonprofit organizations. Cox Charities is funded by contributions from Cox employees, installation partners and contractors as well as the annual Cox Charities Golf Tournament. The HoneyBaked Ham Company of North Las Vegas served as host to the Leavitt Middle School Fundraiser. Ten percent of the events proceeds went directly to Leavitt Middle School to help raise much needed funds. Southwest Gas Corporation offers the “Call Before You Dig” free service for homeowners, contractors and excavators who plan to dig, trench, drill or perform underground projects to have buried utility lines property identified prior to the start of work. Wells Fargo has provided 22 southern Nevada students with some extra help via a $50,000 donation from the Wells Fargo First Generation Scholarship fund. Wells Fargo started the First Generation Scholarship fund in 1999 to support Nevada students who are the first in their families to attend college. Since its inception, the fund has helped more than 400 students from a variety of backgrounds with more than $775,000 in scholarships to Nevada universities. In other company news Wells Fargo donated $70,000 to the Nevada Public Education Foundation (NPEF) to administer the “Wells Fargo Grant a Wish For Your School” program.
