Roland Newkirk senior vice president, corporate banking manager. Blue Cube Marketing Solutions’ founder Tami Belt won a Silver Anvil Award at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) award ceremony in New York for the promotion of The Simpsons Movie. Branch-Hernandez & Associates hired Melissa Pierce and Liz Kennedy as sales executives. Burke & Associates promoted John Travassos to senior project manager and Jennifer Desruisseaux to project manager. Cannery Casino Resorts recently announced the hiring of Kimberly Holloway as director of hotel operations, David Risdon director of marketing, and Spencer Baxter is director of slot operations. Cash America/SuperPawn named Caroline Ciocca director of community relations. Robert Cinelli, Jim Freedman and Michael Schneider were reelected to three-year terms on the board of directors for Community One Federal Credit Union. Cox Communications named George Noel director of network operations, Michael Cornelius director of broadband engineering and Kevin Davis sales director. 1st Commerce Bank recently appointed Kathy Jumper as executive vice president/chief operating officer. Robert Strehlow is vice president, landscape and building maintenance, for Gatski Commercial Real Estate Services. Other company hires include Afatia Teofilo as administrative assistant, Greg Kosmerl and Michael Cole as engineers at the 101 Convention Center Drive site. Hawaiian Tropic Zone named Sheryl Leigh Lujan director of group sales. Imagine Marketing of Nevada, Inc., named Amber Stidham director of strategic planning. Keller Williams Realty Las Vegas hired Paula Sepulvado and Kristen Routh Silberman to establish and operate the company’s newly launched luxury homes division. The Korte Company recently announced the hiring of Bryan Bixman as project engineer, Ihab Elbadwy as project architect, Crystal Dekker as preconstruction services assistant, Ned Chavez project manager and Nathan Sievers manager of the special services department. Jennifer Lazovich of Kummer Kaempfer Bonner Renshaw & Ferrario is public policy chairwoman on the board of directors for the Southern Nevada affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. MedicWest Ambulance appointed Chad Henry as operations manager. ON THE MOVE A and H Insurance, Inc. has been selected by Goldline Research as one of The Most Dependable Insurance Professionals of The Western United States for 2008. Construction continues on Station Casinos’ Aliante Station in North Las Vegas. The $675 million resort is scheduled to open by the end of the year. Cashman Equipment Company has announced the expansion of its power division through the purchase of CPS, LLC. Cox Communications was ranked among the top 10 companies for diversity in the United States by Diversity Inc. Cox was ranked No. 6 of the 50 companies listed. John Garan of Doctor Auto presented a donation to Legacy High School’s athletic department. The donation was the result of a fundraiser held in conjunction with Doctor Auto’s grand opening of their second shop located at Ann Road and Simmons. EJM Development Company launched a new website for The Arroyo. Jaynes Corporation is doing a $5.2 million office tenant improvement for Aristocrat Technologies at 3300 Birtcher Drive. The Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority has approved spending $1.98 million on two-year contracts for 12 international representatives to market the Las Vegas brand in 75 countries. LM Construction Company completed $215,551 in office and warehouse tenant improvements for J3 Hacienda. In other company news the firm recently added a full service sign division to its services. The new division will be doing business as Frontier Sign Company. Majestic Realty Company is finishing construction of their $50 million Beltway Business Park expansion with co-developer Thomas & Mack Development Group. Marnell Properties has announced the completion of the first phase of its new Marnell Airport Center immediately adjacent to the Las Vegas McCarran International Airport by general contractor Burke & Associates, Inc. The project is scheduled to finish in early 2010. Nevada Cancer Institute recently welcomed seven-time Tourde France winner Lance Armstrong as speaker at their “Livestrong Day”. Nevada Power announced plans to purchase a nearly 600 megawatt, natural gas-fired power plant outside Primm. Roel Construction Company has completed tenant improvement construction for the TD Ameritrade branch located on Charleston Blvd. Clark County Media is now Say It With Logos… same quality of products and services, same great customer service. United Way of Southern Nevada recently celebrated its most recent campaign year in which the nonprofit organization raised $12.3 million SPECIAL THANKS The City of North Las Vegas Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services recently joined forces with the North Valley Leadership Group to conduct a clean-up day in the College Heights neighborhood. The Law Office of Maria Perez Avilez gives back to the community by hosting a “Legal Lounge” at no charge. The free consultations are designed to help everyday people with everyday legal issues. The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension gives residents tips on how to protect their homes from the threat of wildfire in their weekly e-mail series “Living with Fire.” Wells Fargo & Company announced the expansion of its Elder Services program to Las Vegas.
